Physicians
Richard J. Wiet,
M.D., F.A.C.S., founded The Chicago Otology Group, Ltd in 1982 (later renamed the Ear Insititue of Chicago, LLC in 2005). He performed the first cochlear implant
surgery in Illinois in 1981. Dr. Wiet has also made several surgical
instruments for middle and inner ear surgery. He was Chairman of the Section of Otolaryngology at Evanston Hospital,
Evanston, Illinois from 1997-2002. He is the Director of the Northwestern
University Medical School fellowship program in Otology/ Neurotology
and Skull Base Surgery. Dr. Wiet is a Professor in Otolaryngology at Northwestern University in Chicago.

Robert
A. Battista, M.D., joined The
Ear Institute of Chicago, LLC in August 1997. Prior to joining the
group, Dr. Battista was an Assistant Professor in the Department
of Otolaryngology at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical
Center in Chicago, Illinois. At Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's
Medical Center, Dr. Battista was Head of the Rush Cochlear Implant
Team and Director of the Temporal Bone Laboratory. Dr. Battista is an Assistant Professor in Clinical Otolaryngology at Northwestern University.

Arvind Kumar, M.D., joined The Ear Institute of Chicago, LLC in July 2002. Prior to joining the group, Dr. Kumar was a Professor in the Departments of Otolaryngology and Neurosurgery at the University of Illinois in Chicago.
